Amazing theme works so very well on desktop AND mobile devices. Very solid performance and amazing experience for the end user.
Cart on some mobile devices is illegible – one character per line!
Buttons are aligned all over the place in the mobile cart.
Shop: the site is supposed to be for selling images. It’s an image based theme. Yet on mobile every image has an overlay obscuring the image. That’s very poor design.
Great fast Help desk guys! keep the good work!
Also congrats for ur theme i still doing test to get the ebst config, but i´m happy with it!
If there wasn’t a dependency on a plugin for related posts this would be 5 stars. This plugin has performance issues and is not allowed on some managed hosting companies because of that. I recently decided to dust this off and changed my rating because the design and simplicity is fantastic.
The more I work with this theme, the less impressed I am. While Border offers some fancy bells and whistles, it simply doesn’t hold water as a professional photography portfolio theme.
The main issues that I have with this theme are twofold:
First, unless you’re shooting in 16:9, the slideshows will not work for you. PixelGrade’s aspect radio for the “fill” setting (recommended for landscape images) doesn’t come anywhere close to the standard 4:3 aspect ratio that most photographers will be shooting in. Worse, hitting the fullscreen button just expands the image in the cropped format. It isn’t a true full view of the photo.
You can opt for the “fit” setting, but the grey spacing around the image isn’t exactly aesthetically pleasing. One solution would be to match the container’s background color to the “Border Background Color,” then invert the icon colors. But, the page still looks unbalanced from the amount of whitespace. (If anything, this may make it worse.)
Second, if you opt for the Masonry formatting for a gallery, the thumbnails are totally low resolution. The blurriness of the low resolution photos flattens the entire gallery, which isn’t great. The only other option for a grid view is Square, which also fails on sharpness — in addition to killing your composition.
The whole thing has sent me down a frustrating rabbit hole of trying to make the most basic functionality work more optimally. I cannot recommend this theme to anyone attempting to use it for a professional portfolio.
