You have the free­dom to split the foot­er into no more than six columns. But that’s more than enough. Fol­low this actions to cor­rect­ly set the num­ber of columns: go to Theme Options → Foot­er → Wid­get Area Num­ber of Columns.

Centering the Widget Content

As men­tioned ear­li­er, bal­ance is impor­tant. You can set the con­tent of the wid­gets to be cen­ter-aligned by just adding a helper CSS class called cen­tered.

To achieve this type of con­sis­ten­cy you need to install the Word­Press CSS Class­es plu­g­in. All you have to do is to go to Appear­ance → Cus­tomize → Wid­gets → Foot­er Area; then, for each wid­get, you have a new field called CSS Class where you need to add the cen­tered class.

There are two oth­er class­es that you can take into account if you want to change the width of the widget’s con­tain­er: one-half and two-thirds. Use the same plu­g­in and opt for these class­es only if you have less content.
