The Pixelgrade path for some teammates

Building the right team can sometimes be overwhelming and it is definitely an endless adventure. We’re grateful to have on board people who are giving their best to make Pixelgrade a hit. Happy birthday, guys and gals! 🎉

We’ve always been strong believers in the power of crews and tribes of all kinds. At Pixelgrade, four of our teammates are celebrating from two to four years next to us, so we decided to make room for them to step on the stage. We tried to find out insights about how it was the ride so far and what’s keeping them motivated.

Radu — Four years of making customers happy

It’s hard to think about the biggest lesson learned in all of these years. I think that the most important thing is that you should never be afraid of jumping into cold water. This is the way my journey at Pixelgrade started in the first place. I wasn’t quite sure about what I was supposed to do in my early days.

So I guess that this is the golden-rule: never be afraid of trying things that you never did before. The result may surprise you.

The only certainty was that I had to do my best to help our customers and make their lives easier and more pleasant. So I guess that this is the golden-rule: never be afraid of trying things that you never did before. The result may surprise you.

On the other hand, I am proud of what we’re trying to do at Pixelgrade on a daily basis. The client’s experience while using our products and interacting with us continues to be the main focus. Moreover, I believe that this is the only way to achieve success in the long run. Staying strong to this may be hard sometimes but it pays back when we see all those great websites made with our products.

I can’t think of anything specific that might’ve helped earlier on this journey. There were a lot of ups and downs during all these years, that’s for sure. However, I sometimes think if the simple fact of not knowing what’s coming next wasn’t, in fact, a good thing. All in all, I think that I wouldn’t change a thing about everything that happened so far.

Ilinca — Two years of crafting stunning products

One of the many things I learned is that if you want to make it (big), you either  break the grid or obey the rules, but never do downgrades in terms of quality. I was never good at coloring inbetween the lines, so here I am pushing boundaries.  It’s still a challenge to know when and where to distrupt, but I feel I’m getting there.

I’ve had more than one full, sudden bloom since I started working here, and I dare to say that it’s not only me. It’s a full house of can-do’s, so to say.

On top of all that, as a Designer I’ve learned not to believe the hype. Trends suck, so be true to yourself. People are terrible at saying what they actually need (me included). Keep the user in mind, the needs in mind, the pains in mind. Take it from there.

I am proud of the mantra of resilience we carry on as creators, as a team and as humans. I recently got a beautiful pseudo-cactus that had some  blossoms, still tiny and green. The next morning all of them just burst into full bloom, all fuchsia-pink. It reminded me about the energy and mechanics that push us, even in harder times, to re-think, re-brand, re-discover, re-generate.

I’ve had more than one full, sudden bloom since I started working here, and I dare to say that it’s not only me. It’s a full house of can-do’s and I’m proud to be around them.

I am tempted to say that I wanted to know about Pixelgrade earlier, but with all the rumbling of the age, I probably wouldn’t have got in touch. I was pretty hard on myself and usually belittled me or chickened out.

All in all, when it comes to Pixelgrade, I’ve never thought of the “what if’s”. Call it fate, destiny, karma, path of life. Sprinkled with a lot of trust from within the team and not only, I followed my gut and took it as it is. It turned out fantastic.

Oana — Two years of pushing the boundaries

I always believed in the give-before-you-get approach and I’m grateful that I found the right playground to explore it. It’s definitely hard to point a single lesson I learned in the last two years since I’m part of Pixelgrade’s crew, but I’ll give it a try — be genuinely interested about the people around you.

Trust me, nothing beats the candid feeling of helping others be the best version of themselves, but not before starting with yourself.

Once you consistently behave this way you’ll not only grow both intellectually and emotionally, you will also have the power to change things for the better. Trust me, nothing beats the candid feeling of helping others be the best version of themselves, but not before starting with yourself. Priceless.

It’s quite complicated to say when you achieved that particular stage, but hey!, this is the beauty of the game. It’s definitely what makes me proud of being part of this tribe next to the impressive work we’re doing around here. And yes, I’m not afraid to self promo a bit since we way too often lack the ability of stopping and looking back to see how far we’ve landed.

If someone would have asked me about what I wanted to know earlier I’d genuinely answer — nothing. There’s something magical about the process of discovery that I feel quite unique and I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world. Otherwise, it would have been boring instead of challenging and this is definitely not my tempo.

Alin — Four years of active contribution

Four years ago I’ve got into this amazing journey and great things started to happen. I began working as a Customer Happiness Engineer and since then I’ve been interacting with thousands of people from all over the world.

The most important lesson I learned since then is to love people. Just like that. It might sound like a cliché but for me, it was a life lesson and it came softly, as I understood that all these people are not just users or clients, they are real human beings with real needs. I’m talking about love as an attitude towards their needs in particular.

I have the opportunity to have a real contribution to everything we do. The high quality of the products and solutions we’re offering make me feel proud.

I’m proud to be part of a very ambitious team with great and challenging goals, maybe too big for a handful of people, sometimes. I am pleased to be part of the Pixelgrade’s crew because I have the opportunity to have a real contribution to everything we do. The high quality of the products and solutions we’re offering make me feel proud.

I wish I would have learned earlier that as a support person, I can have a real contribution to our products. For a long time, I put myself at the “end of the tunnel”, considering that my dev teammates know very well what they have to do when preparing a new product.

However, I understood that I can get valuable insight by interacting with people about their pains and needs. Shortly said, I wish I became much earlier the customers’ voice inside our company and helping my team even more to create better products.

We will continue to let our people shine through their stories as players of Pielgrade’s team. We are thrilled to have around folks who are driven by big ambitions, such as changing the world for the better one step at a time. 🚀
