I like ROSA 2 because it’s clean and user friendly. Simplicity does not make the product less interesting. ROSA 2 looks special and has a large margin for customization. I will be happy to find out more about this theme soon.

First, Rosa is a gorgeous design out of the box. Even if your store, site, etc is going to layout differently, you can see the potential when you are browsing through the demo.
Second, you have A LOT of flexibility in what goes where, and which elements you want to keep and which you don’t.
Of course, with that second piece is the “with great power comes great complexity” conundrum. Figuring out HOW to change things isn’t always obvious. You get there eventually, but it’s not click-button simple. Nor, I’ll say as someone who’s worked on WP sites for over a decade, SHOULD it be.
Finally, the support is top notch. I have gotten responses in a matter of hours on every one of my questions.
THAT, my friends, is worth the price of admission right there.
Just like several recent reviews, my issue is with updates and the new color customizer. It chooses the colors for you and the only way to override them is to use tons of “!important” tags in css. If you want a white background it makes your text a dark pastel and you get a drab grey-toned accent color regardless of your chosen brand colors. You will be unable to use your brand colors as you want.
I’m not even exaggerating when I say you will not be able to use your brand color AT ALL unless you apply it manually in custom css for each element. In fact, if your brand color is #e35a37, it will not show up in ANY of the predesigned selections. It doesn’t even bother to use the actual color you select. I just thought to check the eye dropper in dev tools and was amazed.
Additionally, every update messes with my margins, padding and content width settings and I get constant “Attempt Block Recovery” messages. It was a god send in the beginning during the shift to Gutenberg, but something happened a few months ago and it’s not being addressed.
One of the best theme’s I have ever bought, and I have purchased many themes. I purchased this product because of the outstanding reviews. Not a lot of downsides I am seeing.
I like the template design and felt that it will be look good for my business, unfortunately many of the features I am not really sure how to use. It will be helpful if there are some training sessions on the usage of certain features, but nevertheless if there’s any critical support required, Alin from the support team would provide assistance soonest. 1. Like most theme sales sites, the Rosa2 website is very eye-catching. What drew me to it was the visuals and the elements that are useful for a restaurant/events website. I also saw Rosa1 live on another restaurant site – very contemporary and aesthetically pleasing. I thought it would save me a lot of time, not having to build elements from scratch.
Before purchasing, I contacted support and asked about Rosa2 vs Osteria, as well as whether a page builder was necessary (I avoid where possible to reduce the associated bloat). I preferred the fact that Osteria uses the Classic Editor – one less layer.
The support person told me that there was no contest – Rosa2 – yes, it relies on the Gutenberg editor and I would thank her later.
2. We employed a Graphic Design agency to do a brand identity project for us. Their deliverable was a Style Guide, which lays out the font combinations, color combinations and design elements to be used. My job is to implement these elements precisely.
I find myself fighting the Rosa2 Style Manager continually, writing custom CSS to over-ride the opaque styling algorithm. A simple color pallette covering each html element would have been much easier. Also, the use of CSS custom properties makes finding the variable to over-ride more difficult.
Some of the blocks do not function fully, like the Promo Bar block has no toggle function and leaves a blank bar when closed.
The demo content that is available for download only functions with the Beaver Builder page builder (grrr).
Overall, I’ll get there in the end, but the theme seems to me to be aimed at novices and dumbed down.
3. A theme developer who focuses on design and is great if you are happy to go with the colour combinations selected by the Style Manager. If you want a specific text colour (for example) you will have to change it with CSS.
Thank you for taking the time to write such an extensive review, Martin. I am sorry to hear about the experience you have had so far. This is not the kind of experience we want to deliver. However, there are still a few things that I would like to understand better (e.g., why would you use a page builder since the theme doesn’t need that). So, if you want, please get in touch with us and give me a few more details about that. I would appreciate that, and maybe we’ll be able to, together, make things better.
I bought the rosa2 theme because it is beautifully designed and has high customizability with easy of use.
I also did some research about the team, pixelgrade, behind the theme and found that they have great customer service. So far, I have not been disappointed.
Where the theme needs much improvement is in the performance of some of the plugins. My pages still score pretty low in Google page speed test and our team has narrowed it down to the 2 main plugins needed to run the theme. I hope those can be improved for performance in the future.
Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good affordable professional wordpress theme.
