Is Pile free?
Yes. Pile is a starter design included with the free Pixelgrade LT stack. Pixelgrade Plus is an optional paid upgrade for deeper controls, updates, and hands-on help.
What do I need to get started?
A self-hosted WordPress site and the free Pixelgrade LT stack. Choose this design during setup, then add your own content and identity.
Can I build the demo with the free stack?
You can start from Pile and its essential layouts for free. Some advanced visual controls, premium assets, WooCommerce styling, and assisted support shown across Pixelgrade sites require Plus.
What does Pixelgrade Plus add?
Plus adds the full design system, advanced block controls, premium fonts and assets, WooCommerce styling, advanced filtering, three years of updates, and three Pixelgrade Credits for assisted support.
I already bought this theme. What changes for me?
Nothing about your ownership is removed. Existing purchases, downloads, subscriptions, and license access remain valid under their original terms; your account will identify them as legacy licenses.

I have created a rather complex website with this Theme and it was hellish. I found bugs that are still not fixed, even after a lenghty discussion with support.
But the main reason for writing this: Recently I have created several other websites with different, all within the pricerange of $40 – $60. At the same time I saw your staggering increase in pricing.
Normally I applaud companies that “think different” and are not afraid to charge a little extra for doing so.
But this is completely beyond reality. When a product is more than 4 times as expensive as all competition, this has to account for something. I can assure you: there isn’t.
Making a site with this theme was frustrating and had me working around it’s many limitations and backend quirks constantly.
It was a relief actually designing with different themes once again, because it made me remember that designing is supposed to be fun, fast and flexible.
I have seen a lot of software. I get the problems with “one size fits all”. But you have created a completely different problem: software is not supposed to be this rigid, to the point it hinders creativity. There is a serious flaw in the philosophy here. This software is not different. It’s not even Good. It’s average. The pricing should reflect that.

We both know that no one will pay more for something that it’s not worth it — but despite a higher price, we still have a long and growing list of customers. I’m not saying that a lower price theme cannot accommodate your project — I’m saying that for the circumstances where your ambitions are higher than what you can find in most of the other themes, PILE might be the only theme that can set you and your work truly in the spotlight — and that’s very hard to achieve and cannot be measured by the price difference.

Pile is an interesting theme. It is beautiful, light and functional. I was in love with it after seeing the demo and bought it. But as all themes I ever bought it wasn’t without its bugs. We all hate when things don’t work as we want them to, whether it’s a small issue or large – it’s still annoying. I began feeling this way with some of the small bugs that I began finding in PILE.
BUT I was impressed time and time and time and time and again how quickly the PILE support team would either address these bugs with theme updates or help me fix the problem.The support from this developer is awesome! Some issues were user error and I realized that I made a mistake here or there. Others however were legitimate issues that the PILE team was diligent to help me with! This at the end of the day made me want to share my experience and give this developer and theme 5 stars. With themes it often feels like you buy a beautiful, complex piece of software and you get abandoned. So support is HUGE to me when it comes to a theme and PixelGrade’s done a great job to make this a core part of their business. .Good job guys, keep up the good work, thanks!
