Hero Area and Front Page Categories Missing
If the Hero Area and Front Page Highlighted Categories sections have disappeared from your Listable homepage editor, the cause is almost always the PixTypes plugin — it registers those sections, so Listable cannot render them when PixTypes is missing, inactive, or running an incompatible version.
Restoring the missing sections
Follow these steps in order. In most cases the first step is enough, and you only need the second step if PixTypes was already active.
- Open Plugins → Installed Plugins and check whether PixTypes is present and active. If it is inactive, click Activate. If it is missing entirely, install it from the WordPress plugin directory and activate it.
- If PixTypes is already active but the sections are still missing, deactivate and delete the current version, then install PixTypes 1.4.16 from the PixTypes GitHub releases page. The newer PixTypes 2.0 release has a known compatibility issue with Listable.
- Open Pages → edit your homepage, and confirm the Hero Area and Front Page Highlighted Categories sections have returned.
Why the sections disappear
Listable relies on PixTypes to register its custom homepage sections, including the Hero Area and the Front Page Highlighted Categories. When PixTypes is missing, deactivated, or running an incompatible version such as 2.0, those sections stop registering and no longer appear in the page editor.
