Theme Requirements (classic)
Pixelgrade classic themes need specific WordPress, plugin, and hosting versions to run reliably. This article lists the requirements that apply to your classic theme.
WordPress version
The supported WordPress version depends on which classic theme you run. Check the note that matches your theme below.
Tested and supported up to WordPress 6.2.4. Newer WordPress versions may work, but we can’t guarantee full compatibility. If you need to run a newer WordPress version for security or compliance reasons, consider switching to a newer theme.
If you’re already on a newer version, you can use the Core Rollback plugin to roll back. To prevent future core updates, use the Disable Automatic Updates plugin.
Plugins version
Keep security plugins and WordPress core updated. If you need to pin a plugin version for compatibility, do it knowingly and monitor security advisories.
- WooCommerce: version 5.4.4.
- Gutenberg editor: not supported — use the Classic Editor plugin instead.
- Pixelgrade Care: version 1.17.4 or newer.
To roll back a plugin (for example WooCommerce), use the WP Rollback plugin. To prevent future plugin updates, use the Block Plugin Update plugin.
Hosting requirements
Your hosting stack needs to meet these minimums for the theme to run correctly. You can usually ask your hosting company to install the recommended versions for you.
- PHP: version 7.4.x (PHP 8.0 not fully supported). See php.net.
- MySQL: version 5.7 or greater. See mysql.com.
- HTTPS: required. See Moving toward SSL.
- PHP memory: 256M or greater.
